Author/Illustrator events

Moon Lane have been organising successful author/illustrator events for the last 16 years. We know the impact that a lively and engaging author or illustrator event can have on children’s love of reading and we also know what is involved in each area of the planning in order to ensure that everything runs smoothly on the day. We know that in School author events can vary in quality and sometimes don't offer value for money. Moon Lane understand that taking time out of lessons and money out of a school budget is a big undertaking and we want to ensure that every in school author event leaves the children reaching for a book. Booking events through us should be a straight-forward and easy activity, delivering authors that we know will inspire your children.

Enterprise days

Moon Lane have been running Secondary School Pop-Up Bookshop Enterprise Days since 2015. The model was developed alongside a secondary school enterprise co-ordinator in order to ensure that the package meets school enterprise targets, making the days a valuable school resource, engaging students in reading for pleasure while equipping them with real-world business skills.

Objectives of the enterprise days

To enable students to set up a micro-business
To produce a quality enterprise learning experience
To introduce experts with publishing industry experience
To explore pathways into publishing
To engage students in reading for pleasure and encourage reading recommendations among peers

Fair book stalls

We are able to organise book stalls for author event sales (whether you have booked the author through us or independently), parent's evenings. open days and any other school events celebrating reading for pleasure.

The school receives 10% of all book sales as a credit note for their local Moon Lane shop.
